As the senior editor for the Breast Cancer Consortium (BCC), Gayle Sulik edits just about everything that’s published. Two special issues of the BCC Quarterly will give you a sense of an edited collection. These were especially challenging because many of the contributors either were not published writers, or they spoke English as a second language which requires additional editing and language polishing. Special Issue Editors Grazia de Michele and Cinzia Greco brought together a unique set of international contributors to help to demystify breast cancer and caregiving.

BY YOUR SIDE: BEING A CAREGIVER (2015)

MuddyBoots“Breast cancer is like an earthquake: it starts in an epicenter, in which the damages are high. Then, inevitably and rapidly, seismic waves hit nearby. Cancer not only upsets the lives of those receiving the diagnosis, but also that of parents, daughters and sons, partners, relatives and friends, who become caregivers. This special issue of the Breast Cancer Consortium Quarterly is about them.”
